Ok. Got itWe connect your financial decisions to your dreams and goals with our globally integrated advice.
The way we advise clients and manage their wealth
Our approach to investment advice and wealth management is based on certain key underlying principles. These principles underpin every decision we make when advising on and investing your money. As we are long-term valuation-based investors, we believe that by taking environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into account, we can generate superior risk-adjusted returns for you, and have a positive impact.
Our approach Five key principles that underpin our advice to ensure the best client outcomes. |
|
Client-focused |
We focus on your specific wealth management needs. Our advice process, investment management and associated wealth advisory services are designed specifically for the needs of high-net-worth clients. |
Outcome-based |
Our clients, typically individuals, trusts and charities, often invest to earn a high and growing income stream and maintain or grow the after-inflation (real) value of their wealth. We focus on managing risk, income and capital growth to achieve these outcomes. |
Valuation-driven | Investment returns are a function of what you get (value), for the price you pay, adjusted for risk. There are certain investments that one wants to own in the long term and certain investments that one doesn't. Our investment philosophy is active and valuation-driven, and can be summarised as well-considered, long-term investing. |
Diversification | We diversify in case things go wrong (they always do at some point) and in case we get things wrong (we sometimes do). We recognise the benefits of diversifying across countries, currencies, asset classes, business sectors and counterparties to ensure that we make the most of our clients' wealth at the lowest risk throughout market cycles. |
Long term | We recognise that investing in financial markets offers the best results over the long term (five years or longer). Although there are many variables that affect your wealth in the shorter term, considered advice, focusing on quality investments at a fair price, and the power of compounding will give you the best chance of achieving your objectives over time. |
Defining our approach to environmental, social and governance factors when we invest.
ESG investing (also known as socially responsible investing, impact investing and sustainable investing) refers to investing that takes optimal environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors or outcomes into account. As we are long-term orientated, valuation-based investors, our primary aim is to ensure that we achieve superior risk-adjusted returns for our clients that are in line with our mandates. We believe that factoring pertinent ESG factors into this long-term view, helps us to achieve this.
