Former Nedbank Ke Yona Team graduate Kyle Davies has signed for Lamontville Golden Arrows, the club have confirmed. Davies will become the 10th Ke Yona Team player to feature in South Africa’s top-flight when he makes his debut for Abafana Bes’thende, though that could be in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash against Vaal University of Technology on February 8. It was previously reported that he was on trial at Golden Arrows, and the club have now made their move to secure his services ahead of the close of the transfer window in South Africa on Friday. Davies was part of the original intake of Ke Yona Team players in 2013, and along with Polokwane City goalkeeper Mwenya Chibwe, is one of two that are still active in the Premier Soccer League.

He stood out as an exciting left-back and played against Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Challenge game that year, where the side held their illustrious opponents 0-0 before losing in the penalty shoot-out. Davies made a big impression though and was soon snapped up by Orlando Pirates in the 2013/14 season, but did not play a game for the Buccaneers and instead forged his career elsewhere. He was on loan at second-tier Royal Eagles for the 2014/15 season and later University of Pretoria, but his big breakthrough came at Real Kings in the 2017/18 campaign. He featured in 25 of their 30 league games that campaign, and was equally influential in 2018/19.

However, he found the going tougher this campaign and has been allowed to find another club. In all he has made 55 appearances in league and cup.
