Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League side Amavarara are licking their lips at the prospect of facing fellow third-tier side Super Eagles in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 as they reveal they will take the fixture to the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane. Amavarara, who are based in Komani but do not have a venue there suitable to host the fixture, are making their debut in South Africa’s most prestigious knockout competition and have lofty ambitions. They see the game against Free State ABC Motsepe League side Super Eagles as the perfect opportunity to advance to the next stage and get a tie against one of the country’s big guns.

"We are satisfied with the draw because I think our chances to proceed to the last 16 stage will increase against Eagles,"  club chairman Lusapho Mzwakali told the Daily Dispatch. "If we fail to get to the next level we'll have ourselves to blame; the toss was good for us." He added that home-ground advantage will be a major plus for the side. "Getting home-ground makes us feel more confident, although we didn't really have a suitable home ground for the game. We have decided to bring the game to Sisa Dukashe Stadium. "We didn't have many choices when it came to this. Sisa Dukashe was the only suitable venue and we are sad as a club that we have to leave our supporters in Komani to play here.

"But we really didn't have a choice when we studied the addendum PSL sent regarding the venue." Mzwakali previously hailed their progression to the Last 32 as an opportunity to showcase their quality on the national stage. "This is an opportunity to showcase the talent we have. It is a first for the region and my boys will make our supporters proud," he said.  "When it comes to losing, there are no holy cows in soccer. Whether a team is wearing yellow, gold or black we will prove them fallible." The team is coached by Thomas Tshabalala and was formed in 1988.
