Bloemfontein Celtic are likely to take their Nedbank Cup Last 32 fixture against AmaZulu to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth while work is done on their usual home, the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium. Celtic have been forced to vacate their home ground while work is carried out to improve the pitch and other facilities, and have nominated the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium as their alternate venue. They will play a first game in PE on Sunday when they host Chippa United at was it, ironically, the home ground of the 'visitors'! “We have started with fixing the Dr Molemela ground and have hired experts to help us with the reseeding of the ground. All is going well,” Celtic said in a statement.

“Once the ground has recovered and the patches are closed, we will invite PSL officials to inspect it.” That process could take months, especially in the height of summer, meaning Celtic will play at a 'home away from home' until they can return. That does not mean they cannot take their Nedbank Cup clash to other parts of the country.  Or they might be able to use the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, with the Cheetahs rugby side not in action that weekend.
