Complimentary SAA Companion Ticket
- One Continental (Africa) or Global SAA Companion Ticket is available per calendar year (1 January to 31 December) on achieving the eligible* spend thresholds. Tickets must be issued within 12 months of the date of qualification.
- Premium card accountholders
On achieving the annual eligible* spend threshold of R60 000, accountholders will qualify for a complimentary Continental (Africa) Companion Ticket or on achieving the annual eligible* spend threshold of R160 000, accountholders will qualify for a complimentary Global Companion Ticket.
- Gold card accountholders
On achieving the annual eligible* spend threshold of R80 000, accountholders will qualify for a complimentary Continental (Africa) Companion Ticket or on achieving the annual eligible* spend threshold of R180 000, accountholders will qualify for a complimentary Global Companion Ticket.
- To utilise the Companion Ticket the accountholder must travel by purchasing either an SAA published fare Economy Class ticket or a Business Class ticket.
- The accountholder and companion must travel together for qualification of the Companion Ticket benefit.
- The Companion Ticket must, at all times, be booked and issued on the same fare classes as the accountholder’s ticket.
- The Companion Ticket cannot be used on codeshare flights, SA Express or Airlink services.
- The Companion Ticket is not upgradeable.
- Only one Companion Ticket may be used per flight.
- The Companion Ticket must be issued within 12 months of the date of qualification.
- All taxes, fees and levies applicable to the Companion Ticket are for the passenger’s account.
- Eligible* spend levels should be reflected on the card accountholder's Voyager account within 45 days of spend qualification.
- Eligible* spend levels will be adjusted for any refund transactions processed on the SAA Voyager credit card account.
- To book your Companion Ticket please call SAA Voyager on 0860 003 145 and follow the voice prompts. Your call will be directed to the Companion Ticketing Desk, where your revenue ticket and Companion Ticket will be issued at the time of booking. All taxes, fees and levies can only be paid with your credit card.
SAA lounge access
- SAA Voyager Premium Cardholders will be allowed access to SAA-owned and SAA-operated Business Class lounges when travelling on SAA-operated flights.
- SAA Business Class lounges are located at OR Tambo, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and East London Airports as well as at Harare and Lusaka Airports.
- No guests are allowed.
- A valid SAA Voyager Premium Credit Card must be presented to make use of this facility.
- Access is not available when travelling on agency-discounted or industry-discounted tickets.
SAA Business Class check-in
- The Business Class check-in facility is available only to SAA Voyager Gold or Premium Credit Cardholders.
- A valid SAA Voyager Gold or Premium Credit Card must be presented to make use of this facility.
12 Month additional validity on Voyager miles
- From 2012 and beyond spend on Voyager credit cards will no longer count towards non-expiry miles.
- However, miles can be saved by flying 5 000 or 3 000 Tier Miles on either SAA or SA Express respectively in a calendar year.
- Cardholders who achieve the existing annual spend threshold by 31 December 2011 will still enjoy the benefit of Miles reinstatement in March 2012.
Bonus Miles on first SAA purchase
- The first purchase of a revenue ticket on SAA with the card will entitle the SAA Voyager Gold Credit Cardholder to 10 000 Bonus Miles and the SAA Voyager Premium Credit Cardholder to 18 000 Bonus Miles.
Double Miles for purchases made during the first month
- Cardholders will earn Double Miles on all eligible* spend on their card for the first 30 days after the date the primary card was issued.
General
The SAA Voyager credit cardholder must be a Voyager member. Persons who are not Voyager members at the time of applying for an SAA Voyager credit card will, on approval of their applications, be enrolled in the Voyager Programme.
* Eligible spend includes local and international purchases and excludes cash withdrawals, casino chip and travellers cheque purchases, fees and finance charges.
