By staging the South African equivalent of the FA Cup, which will incidentally double as the last official competition before the start of the Confederations Cup, we have gone a long way towards delivering on our first objective. In addition Nedbank and The Sports Trust will yet again donate R32 000 to the first SAFA team drawn tonight to be used for development purposes.
Despite the draw pitting high profile teams together in the early stages of the competition, Mamelodi Sundowns and Mpumalanga Black Aces, inaugural Nedbank Cup finalists, savoured a coliseum like atmosphere at a packed Johannesburg stadium with Mamelodi Sundowns eventually taking the spoils.
A competition of this nature would not be complete without a competition for the fans. Nedbank has developed a unique package linked the Nedbank Cup called the Nedbank Cup ke yona package which offers a great selection of products that includes transactional accounts, fixed instalment personal loan, credit card and funeral plans.
Clients who take up at least one product in the Nedbank Cup ke yona package stand a chance to win their share of R2 million prize money starting next month.
