  • Banking

    Experience fully functional banking and a wide range of transactional capabilities with the Banking NedApp.

    To access the Banking NedApp you will need to be a South African Nedbank online banking client.

    To activate the Banking NedApp follow these steps:

    1. Access the Activate Banking NedApp
    2. Enter your profile number, PIN and password (the same one you use for internet banking) and click on Submit.
    3. Accept the Approve-it™ message sent to your cellphone.
    4. If you do not receive an Approve-it™ message on your cellphone, please log on to internet banking, access Admin > Nedbank App Suite > Activate Banking, and accept the device you are trying to activate.
    5. Exit Activate Banking and a new icon will appear called Banking.
    6. You can now log on to Banking by entering the PIN you created when you registered for the App Suite.

  • Share Trading

    Share Trading allows you to view your complete share portfolio and order book, place new orders and cancel open orders. Click on a share in your portfolio to view its value, cost, current prices and related information. You can also trade the share by clicking on 'Buy' or 'Sell'. The order book shows you all your executed, open and cancelled orders for the day. Create and view your very own market watch lists to keep in touch with the markets. With one easy click you can view market indicators or your own selection of shares. Get a snapshot of the day's market movement. Up to 10 watch lists can be created and saved.

    1. Please download the Nedbank App Suite™ from your app store.
    2. Install the App Suite and complete the registration process.
    3. Select Activate Share Trading to generate an enrolment request.
    4. Log on to your account on the share trading website at stockbroking.nedsecure.co.za.
    5. Click on Mobile admin and accept the device.
    6. You can now log on to Share Trading by entering the PIN you created when you registered for the App Suite.

    Viewing balances
    This option enables you to view balances for selected accounts. Only accounts you have access to will be visible.

    Viewing statements
    This option enables you to view statements for selected accounts. Only accounts you have access to will be visible.

    Single payments
    This option allows you to capture a single payment.

    Single transfers
    This option allows you to capture a single transfer.

    Authorisation of payments
    This option enables you to authorise payments previously loaded on NetBank Business.

    Authorisation of electronic bill payments This option enables you to authorise electronic bill payments previously loaded on NetBank Business.

    Authorisation of transfers

    How to activate NetBank Business NedApp

    If you are a NetBank Business administrator:

    • Complete the MR19 form to add mobile access, have this signed by the designated person(s) and fax the form to Nedbank.
    • Download the Nedbank App SuiteTM from an app store and install it.
    • Specify the following details:
    • your ID/passport number;
    • a name for your device; and
    • your email address (optional).
    • Select a five-digit PIN on the mobile device.
    • Select 'Activate NetBank Business' and then enter your NetBank Business profile number and UserID.
    • Log on to www.netbankbusiness.co.za using your NetBank Business credentials.
    • Select 'Approve Mobile Devices' from the 'Admin' menu.
    • Your mobile devices will be listed.
    • Select the device(s) you wish to approve for NetBank Business Mobile.
    • The selected device(s) will now be activated.
    • Log off from NetBank Business.
    • Select the NetBank Business widget and log on with your existing NetBank Business password.

    If you are not a NetBank Business administrator, your administrator must do the following:

    • Log on to www.netbankbusiness.co.za.
    • Select 'Admin', then 'Users', and then 'Maintain users'.
    • Select the user who requires mobile access.
    • Change the mobile flag from 'No' to 'Yes'.
    • Authorise the above change.

    Once the above steps have been completed, you must now:

    • Download the Nedbank App SuiteTM from an app store and install it.
    • Specify the following details:
    • your ID/passport number;
    • a name for your device; and
    • your email address (optional).
    • Select a five-digit PIN on the mobile device.
    • Select 'Activate NetBank Business' and then enter your NetBank Business profile number and UserID.

No registration is required.

Option 1

If the administrator of your profile has the right to maintain profiles, then he or she can grant you mobile access by –

1.1 Accessing the NetBank Business internet banking site.
1.2 Selecting 'Admin' and 'Maintain users'.
1.3 Selecting the user that requires mobile access.
1.4 Changing the mobile flag from 'No' to 'Yes'.
1.5 Authorising the above change on NetBank Business.

To complete the activation process (i.e. when either Option 1 or Option 2 is complete) you must:

1 Access the NetBank Business internet banking site.
2 Select the 'Generate passkey' option (by selecting 'Admin' and then 'Generate passkey').
3 Log off from NetBank Business.
4 Select Activate NedApp on your mobile device.
5 Enter the passkey obtained in Step 2.
6 Create a PIN.
7 You can now access the NetBank Business NedApp.

Option 2

A written request for mobile rights must be sent to Nedbank by completing the Update Existing User form (MR4 A), which can be obtained from the NetBank Business internet banking site (via the Forms link).

2.1 The above document must be printed, signed and faxed to Nedbank.
2.2 The updated user must be authorised on NetBank Business when Nedbank has completed the request.

For administrators only option 2 above is available.

To complete the activation process (i.e. when either Option 1 or Option 2 is complete) you must:

1 Access the NetBank Business internet banking site.
2 Select the 'Generate passkey' option (by selecting 'Admin' and then 'Generate passkey').
3 Log off from NetBank Business.
4 Select Activate NedApp on your mobile device.
5 Enter the passkey obtained in Step 2.
6 Create a PIN.
7 You can now access the NetBank Business NedApp.

PASS KEY

What is Activate NedApp for ?

This NedApp is used to activate secure functionaliy. Enter your Passkey into the Passkey field within this NedApp to activate the funtion you widh to activate.

What is a Pass Key?

A Pass Key is unique reference number that is required to create a secure PIN . This will enable functionality that requires additional security like Banking and Share Trading.

Where do I get a Pass Key? 

Pass Keys can be generated on the following websites, Internet Banking /Share Trading and Nedbank Business.

Why do I need a Pass Key?

The Pass Key will activate the security certificate on the App which will give you access to secure functionality on the App.

The Pass Key  is not working, what should I do?

Ensure you are entering the correct number and that it is not 10 hours old as it would have expired. You can generate a new one if the current one does not work.

I generated a Pass Key but I received a message saying I am already registered.

You may have generated a Pass Key already, you would have already been prompted to create a PIN. If you are experiencing problems, call 0860 555 111 and ask for assistance.

I have a entered a Pass Key and Generated a PIN, why cant I access Share Trading.

If you did not go through the enrolment process on the Share Trading Website you will need to do so. The Internet Banking enrolment will only give you access to the Banking.

Do I need to enrol for different services?

Yes, however the PIN you use to access them will be the same.   The enrolment is used to tie all the functions to a single PIN.

I never wrote down the Pass Key what should I do?

You can generate a new one on Internet Banking /Share Trading and Nedbank Business websites.

PIN

Where do I get a PIN?

You will be able to generate a PIN by going trough the enrolment process and entering a Pass Key.

Why must I change my PIN?

This service is to be used at your own discretion, it is advisable to change your PIN frequently for security reasons.

How many digits can the PIN be?

a max and min of 5 (Numeric characters only)

I am using my CARD/Profile PIN and it does not work

This PIN is unique to the APP and is created when you enrol for a secure function like (Banking/Share Trading / Share Trading or Nedbank Business)

I access Internet Banking with a Profile Pin and Password, why is this different

The enrolment process links your Profile Pin and Password to a secure certificate on the handset which in turn links back to this information so only a PIN is required to logon. This PIN can only be used on your phone for the App

The PIN wont change, what should I do?

Ensure the Current PIN is correct and the new PIN is entered is exactly the same in New and Confirm PIN fields

I cant remember my PIN what should I do?

Call the Nedbank Contact Centre 0860 555 111 and ask the agent for assistance

LOCATOR

What does the locator do?

The locator uses the phones GPS to locate your current position and then pin point the closest Nedbank branch or ATM to you. Should the devices GPS not work or not have a GPS, a manual function is available locate branches and ATMS. Once your location is found, a list of your closest locations is returned.

Does the locator use location based services to locate my position?

No it uses the phones GPS.

My phone does not have a GPS will the locator work?

Yes, enter your current location into the input field and it will find the closest Branch/ATM to that location 

Does Nedbank charge to use the locator?

No, not at all. The Locator does require data usage so network providers costs are involved.

Does the locator connect to my GPS to navigate to the location I searched for. 

No not at this stage.

How do the directions work?

Once the locator knows where you are and where you want to go, it maps out a turn by turn route to the location.

How do I access the calculators?

Select the button on the Nedbank Application that is titled calculators

What interest rate should I use?

It would be advisable to use the current prime rate as a starting point however the calculators only give an indication of repayment values and interest rates are dependent on credit approval

What value can I enter in the amount field to calculate finance on?

You can enter any value you want, this however does not mean that you will be entitled to take finance for that amount. It is up to the credit scoring process to determine that.

What calculators are available?

Motor Finance, Homeloan, Personal Loan and a FOREX conversion calculator.

Do I get charged to use the calculator?

Nedbank does not charge. There are data costs that your mobile network operator will charge. Please consult your MNO for data costing

Can I buy Forex from the App?

No at this stage you can not

The rates are different to the rates I saw at the branch, why?

The branch rates are updated every 15 minutes and would differ

How do I dial the number?

I accepted terms and conditions when installing the App, is this applicable to all the info in the T & C's?

Individual NedApps have different T&C, ensure you read the ones relevant to you.

I can't accept the banking terms on the App, why not.?

You will need to visit the Nedbank Website to do this.

How do I logon to the Banking?

Click on the Banking NedApp and you will be logged in. (You are required to enrol via Internet Banking first)

What is the difference between current and available balance?

Current balance is what is reflecting in your account, including uncleared effects and un processed debits. Available balance reflects the funds that can be used for transactions now, this excludes uncleared effects and unprocessed debits.

Why does the statement differ to Internet Banking?

The App uses a mini statement where Internet Banking uses a full statement.

How do I get to a mini statement?

Click on one of the listed account numbers

What is a Balance Enquiry?

A balance enquiry will provide you with a list of all accounts and balances linked to your digital profile  (maximum of 10 per page).  Balances on restricted accounts will not be shown.

What is a Mini Statement?

The mini statement enquiry can only be requested on a valid account and displays the last recent 10 transactions on your account as well as other account summary information.

What transactions can I search for?

Statement entries, Payments, Transfers and Prepaids

Should I be concerned if a transaction failed?

You should always check that all the transactions you process go off. You may miss an important transaction like a Payment, you may have scheduled to go off in the future when there were insufficient funds in your account.

What Payments can I do?

You can perform current, future dated and recurring payments to your beneficiaries, Once Off, Tax/UiF and Bank Approved beneficiaries. Payments cannot exceed your available payment balance or your daily payment limit 

What Transfers can I do?

You can perform current, future dated and recurring transfers. Funds can be transferred between your linked accounts. Transfer amounts are limited to your daily transfer limit. Transferred funds are reflected on your accounts immediately.

Who can I purchase prepaids for?

You can buy prepaids for anyone with a South African registered Prepaid cellphone on the following Networks, MTN Vodacom, Cell C, 8ta and Virgin.

Can I but Data?

Yes you can for Vodacom Prepaid Data sum cards.

How quickly will I get my airtime? 

The transaction should take less than a minute but is reliant on the Cellular Networks to deliver the Airtime.

Will you ever offer prepaid Electricity on the Nedbank App?

Yes we will in the future. We will also offer a range of other Prepaids that are not currently available.

What does it cost to buy a Prepaid?

Nedbank does not charge for Prepaid transactions on the App.

How do I change my Profile PIN?

For security reasons you may change your profile PIN as often as you like, the following rules apply:
The PIN must consist of four numeric digits;
The user must have an existing profile PIN;
No digit maybe captured more than three times;
A temporary PIN expires after six days;
A profile PIN must be entered twice for confirmation.

How do I change my Password?

For security reasons you may change your Password as often as you like. Your password should never be shared but kept confidential. The following rules apply:
The password should be between 6 and 10 characters long
The password should contain both numbers and letters
The password should not have any special characters such as %&#@*()

How do I log-off from Nedbank Cellphone Banking?

Once the user has completed all his cellphone banking transaction, the user has to exit the session by logging off – i.e. selecting the Logoff option..
Log off will be successful when the log off page is displayed indicating that the log off has been successful.

I do not want so many NedApps on my home screen can I remove them?

Yes, access the menu button on the top right of the main menu screen. Select Manage NedApps, you can manage what you wold like to see here by switching the NedApps on and off.

What does secured by Entersekt mean?

Entersekt is the company Nedbank has partnered with to provide the security for the Nedbank App. 

Some of the buttons on the main menu have not loaded, it just says loading why?

Your connection may be slow. Please try close the App completely and open it again. Also ensure you have a good data connection on your phone.

SHARE TRADING

Do I need a Nedbank Private Wealth Stockbrokers Share Trading account to be able download.

A Share trading account and registering on our website is a prerequisite for downloading and using the App Suite

What is the registration process?

An Share trading account can be initiated online on https://stockbroking.nedsecure.co.za the registration button is on the right of the home page. Follow the registration process including completing the mandate online.

How long before my account is active?

A Share trading account will only be opened once we have the original mandate and face documents in place. The day after the account has been opened access to the website you can then access the site to download the App Suite.

I am an existing client but do not access the current BoE website.

On https://stockbroking.nedsecure.co.za follow the registration process for existing clients using you Share trading account number

How do I start to use Mobi once I have an account and have register online?

Log on to your account via the site. Click on the App Suite icon and follow the instructions.

Is the same user name used for my mobi app and the website?

Once you register on the Mobi app and selected a username and password to the app you are not required to log on to the share trading widget with you Share trading login

What functionality is included in my Mobi application?

Portfolio view, Trading equities, viewing and cancelling your orders placed.

Can I log on via web and mobi simultaneously?

Concurrent logins are not possible.

Are there any additional costs to use Mobi?

No the use of the MOBI app carries no additional charge

Once I have downloaded the app can I trade?

Yes if you have cash or shares available to trade.

Can I link multiple accounts to my primary account?

Multiple accounts can be linked to a single primary sign on

How do I switch between accounts?

At the top of the screen initially the primary account will reflect if your account is linked to others this will expand to a drop down and you can select the account you wish to view or trade on.

Can I see live prices?

If you have subscribed for live prices these will be viewed on both the website and the Mobi app, however if you do not subscribe to live pricing all prices are delayed by 15 minutes.

How up to date is my portfolio?

If live prices are subscribed for live prices will reflect on the portfolio. If live prices are not subscribed for prices delayed by 15 minutes are shown.

How will I know my order has been executed?

Once an order has fully executed a sums will be sent to the client. In the order book it will show the status as TX

Can I cancel orders placed using the website?

Orders placed on the Website can be cancelled on the Mobi App and vice versa

Can I sell shares on line I do not have?

No. Shares cannot be sold if you do not have the shares to settle the trade with. Contact your stockbroker to enquire about short sales.

I placed an order and it is trading at the price I requested why have I not traded ?

The JSE trades on a price and time priority basis. Orders placed at the same price but before you will trade before your order 

I sold my shares why can I not withdraw funds from the funds on my account ?

The JSE settles trades on a T+5 basis. A brokers note is sent out on the business day after the trade has occurred. The settlement date is reflected on the Brokers Note.  Funds are transferred from the Share trading account when requested. 

Why can I not see the deposit I have made

The allocation of deposits are made from a bank reconciliation statement. A deposit should be referenced with your Share trading account number for speedier allocation to the trading account. 

Does the funds on my Share trading account receive interest ?

Interest is paid on the credit balance on Share trading account. The rate is  the JSET rate

Can I trade off shore Stocks

A mandate to trade shares offshore needs to be in place and the orders for offshore shares need to be placed with your relationship manager 

Can I trade unlisted shares that trade over the counter (OTC)?

OTC orders need to be placed with your relationship manager 

Can I trade Unit Trusts

Unit Trusts orders need to be placed with your relationship manager

Why can't  I trade for the cash on my account ?

Funds are reserved for pending orders as well as cash payments. Should you wish to place another order either an existing order needs to be cancelled or a payment request would need to be cancelled

How do withdraw available funds on my account?

Funds may be requested to be transferred out of the account via the website or alternatively through your relationship manager.

Why have my funds from sale of my shares not been deposited to my bank account?

The JSE settles trades on a T+5 basis. A brokers note is sent out on the business day after the trade has occurred. The settlement date is reflected on the Brokers Note.  Funds are transferred from the Share trading account on request. Requests can be made online through the website or via your stockbrokers branch prior to 12h00 South African time requests after 12h00 are processed on the following day.

How do I add/ change banking details ?

If a facsimile/email indemnity is in place you may email or fax a statement which is less than 3 months old and reflects the client's name, account number and the banks logo or bank stamp to onlinetrading@nedbankprivatewealth.co.za or fax it to 011 295 0932. If you do not have a Facsimile indemnity in place  an original statement or a certified copy of the statement must be given to BoE Stockbrokers to have the banking details updated or changed.
