NEDBANK EYETHU RETAIL TRUST – NOTICE TO PARTICIPANTS

Nedbank Eyethu Retail participants that have not provided their instructions relating to the sale and/or transfer of their Nedbank Eyethu shares, or have only provided their instructions and supporting documentation in part, are requested to contact our call centre on 0861 393 633 or email Molebedi-nedret@nedbank.co.za.
.
Nedbank Eyethu Retail accounts cannot be held open indefinitely and we therefore need to release the cash and/or shares held in the Nedbank Eyethu Retail Trust to the relevant participants at the earliest opportunity.

When submitting their instructions, participants are required to provide the following documents:

  • A certified copy of their green bar-coded identity document.
  • Confirmation of their bank account details.
  • Proof of residence (no older than three months).

All documentation is to be faxed  to 011 295 8022 marked for the attention of Maura Mamatela.

Should participants continue to be non-responsive, the cost to administer their accounts will be as follows (effective from 1 January 2011):

  • A cash handling fee of R39,90 a month, where we hold cash in the participant’s account.
  • A custodial fee of R50,92 a month, where we hold shares in the participant’s account.

Please note that where we hold both cash and shares in a participant’s account, both the aforementioned fees will apply. Fees include value-added tax (VAT) and are subject to change.

The Deed of Trust dated 26 July 2005, including the scheme rules, has been amended appropriately to make provision for the charging of fees while we hold cash and/or shares of participants who have not yet provided us with the aforementioned instruction form and supporting documents.

Should there be insufficient cash in a participant’s account to cover the aforementioned fees, we will firstly utilise the cash available and thereafter sell part or all of the participant’s shares to defray costs.

Participants are urged to respond as soon as possible so that we can release any cash and/or shares to them..

The aforementioned amendment also includes a name change to “Nedbank Retail Custodial Trust” in accordance with the current purpose of the trust.
