In simple terms, COP is annual conference where senior members of governments and presidents from various parts of the world gather for a full two weeks to discuss issues relating to climate change. The objective is to agree on efforts by each country on climate challenges that face the planet. The COP adopts decisions and resolutions, published in reports of the COP. Successive decisions taken by the COP make up a detailed set of rules for practical and effective implementation of the Convention.
