There are two ways to top up at ATMs – buy airtime and send it to any cellphone number or print out a voucher.
  • Insert your card into the ATM.
  • Select your language of choice.
    Note: Nedbank now offers all 11 official languages of South Africa on our ATMs.
  • Enter your PIN.
  • Select prepaid airtime from the list of transactions and follow the instructions on the screen.
  • Remove your card and take your voucher if you requested this option.
Using your cellphone is the most convenient way to top up your airtime.
  • Dial *120*001#.
  • Enter your self-service banking profile number.
  • Enter your PIN.
  • Select the prepaid option from the menu and follow the prompts.
  • The airtime will be credited to the cellphone number you indicated.
  • Log on to and you will go directly to the internet banking page, or enter on your cellphone browser.
  • Enter your self-service banking profile number, PIN and password.
  • Select the prepaid option from the menu on your account details page.
  • Complete the details, indicating your cellular service provider, the cellphone number you want credited, description of the transaction, and the amount you want to buy for, and click on ‘Submit’.
  • You will receive an SMS authorisation with a reference number.
  • Confirm the purchase.
To top up your airtime using your cellphone or the internet you will need a profile number and PIN. If you don’t already have these and would like to sign up, please call 0860 NEDBANK or go to your nearest Nedbank branch.
